La Poveda es un núcleo poblacional perteneciente a Arganda del Rey, al sureste de Madrid. Este enclave nació entorno a la actividad industrial de La Azucarera, industria que impulsó la creación de la línea de ferrocarril para el transporte de las mercancías. Con mas de 120 años de historia, este barrio argandeño continúa fuertemente ligado a la historia de esta línea férrea, donde encontramos vestigios identitarios y de fuerte valor documental y patrimonial. Fue en este enclave que el autor se cría, y establece relaciones emotivas y sentimentales con la historia de La Poveda. Con 15 años comienza a experimentar los procesos fotográficos analógicos, desde la captura al laboratorio, y fue el paisaje de La Poveda que cautivó su mirada. En el año 2023, son rescatados negativos olvidados que contienen imágenes donde el fotógrafo fue al encuentro de estas relaciones emotivas y sentimentales con el territorio. En las imágenes encontramos como el parque del sureste y en especial la línea de ferrocarril y el puente sobre el Jarama sirven de experimentación fotográfica, registro de una búsqueda personal sobre el significado del territorio y la identidad. Los negativos en ocasiones damnificados nos recuerdan el paso del tiempo y la posible degradación del patrimonio si éste cae en el olvido. Las imágenes rescatadas de estos viejos negativos conforman ahora un ensayo visual que nos transporta a un mundo entre el sueño y el despertar. La luz y la sombra revelan los intentos por hacer visibles estas relaciones emotivas e identitarias del fotógrafo con La Poveda que le vio crecer. Un universo visual entre la pintura y la fotografía, el pasado y el presente.

La Poveda é uma aldeia pertencente a Arganda del Rey, no sudeste de Madrid. Este bairro nasceu em torno da atividade industrial de La Azucarera, indústria que favoreceu a criação da linha férrea para o transporte de mercadorias. Com mais de 120 anos de história, este bairro de Arganda Del Rey, continua fortemente ligado à história desta linha ferroviária, onde encontramos vestígios de identidade e um forte valor documental e patrimonial. Foi neste enclave que o autor cresceu e estabeleceu relações afectivas e sentimentais com a história de La Poveda. Aos 15 anos começou a experimentar os processos fotográficos analógicos, desde a captura até ao laboratório, e foi a paisagem de La Poveda que cativou o seu olhar. No ano de 2023, foram resgatados negativos esquecidos com imagens onde o fotógrafo foi ao encontro destas relações afectivas e sentimentais com o território.

Nas imagens, descobrimos como o Parque del sureste e, em especial, a linha férrea e a ponte sobre o rio Jarama servem de experimentação fotográfica, registo de uma procura pessoal do significado do território e da identidade. Os negativos, por vezes danificados, recordam-nos a passagem do tempo e a possível degradação do património se este cair no esquecimento. As imagens resgatadas destes antigos negativos formam agora um ensaio visual que nos transporta para um mundo entre o sonho e o despertar. Luz e sombra revelam as tentativas de tornar visíveis estas relações afectivas e identitárias do fotógrafo com La Poveda, onde cresceu. Um universo visual entre a pintura e a fotografia, o passado e o presente

La Poveda is a village belonging to Arganda del Rey, southeast of Madrid. This settlement was born around the industrial activity of La Azucarera, an industry that promoted the creation of the railway line for the transport of goods. With more than 120 years of history, this district of Arganda is still strongly linked to the history of this railway line, where we find vestiges of identity and strong documental and patrimonial value. It was in this area that the author grew up and established emotional and sentimental relationships with the history of La Poveda. At the age of 15 he began to experiment with analogue photographic processes, from the capture to the laboratory, and it was the landscape of La Poveda that captivated his gaze. In the year 2023, forgotten negatives were rescued containing images where the photographer went to meet these emotional and sentimental relationships with the territory.

In the images we find how the Parque del sureste and especially the railway line and the bridge over the Jarama River are used as a photographic experimentation, a registration of a personal exploration of the meaning of territory and identity. The damaged negatives sometimes reminds us the passage of time and the possible degradation of heritage if forgotten. The images rescued from these old negatives now form a visual essay that transports us to a world between dream and awakening. Light and shadow reveal the attempts to make visible these emotional and identitary relations of the photographer with La Poveda, where he grew up. A visual universe between painting and photography, between the past and the present.
